The 2025 Western Poultry Conference, held on February 24 at the Red Deer Resort & Casino in Red Deer, Alberta, was an absolute success!

With the overarching theme “We Are EXCITED TO RETURN TO OUR ROOTS,” this year’s event celebrated the heart of Alberta’s poultry industry just before the Alberta Poultry AGMs. It was a day full of fresh ideas and exciting discussions!

A big highlight was the introduction of the Cutting Edge Feather Award for Innovation – Nominate a Farmer! This new award will honor an Alberta poultry farmer who has demonstrated exceptional innovation in farming practices while also contributing to sustainability and positively influencing their community and the broader industry.

The Western Poultry Conference, supported by key industry groups, provides education and training for poultry farmers across Western Canada. Expert speakers help farmers implement new ideas and techniques.
