At the Canadian Culinary Championship held on February 2-3, 2024, in Ottawa, Red Deer Resort and Casino’s Executive Chef JP Dublado was awarded the bronze medal for his culinary creation.

Chef Dublado represented Edmonton and showcased his culinary skills, blending B.C. sablefish with Hokkaido scallops and skillfully highlighting the natural sweetness of corn. His dish impressed the judges and guests and elevated Red Deer Resort and Casino’s reputation in the culinary world.

His dish paid homage to the diverse and rich ingredients available across Canada and showcased his technical skills. The community of Red Deer is proud of Chef Dublado’s achievement and the news of his bronze medal has been spreading around.
